  TRAUMATIC PERICARDITIS

Pericardial injury due to accidental swallowing of sharp metal objects.

Etiology-

•  swallowing of sharp metallic objects.

Symptoms-

• Prominent jugular vein
• Recurrent tympany
• Arc shaped spinal cord
• Hyperthermia
• Anorexia
• Stands in head down position
• Elbows become wide

Diagnosis –

• By signs and symptoms
• Recurrent tympany

Treatment –

• Rumenotomy
• Broad spectrum antibiotics along with analgesics and b-complex
• Use of cortisone
